The FROSTBIT consortium met in Fréjus (France) from 2–5 November 2025 for its 2nd General Assembly, combined with a scientific school on thermodynamics and spin crossover. The event brought together partners from all institutions to review progress, strengthen collaboration, and deepen the scientific foundations of the project.

The meeting opened with a welcome reception and an introductory lecture on spin crossover by Patrick Rosa (CNRS). Over the following days, partners presented updates on all work packages, discussed key milestones, and aligned on the next steps for the development of innovative solid-state refrigeration technologies.
Alongside the General Assembly, participants attended a series of advanced lectures delivered by experts from CNRS, UPC, UT, UNILJ, and UKent. Topics covered included thermodynamic potentials and phase transitions, caloric effects, thermal conductivity, barocaloric device characterization, and the thermodynamics of spin crossover under pressure.
Beyond the scientific sessions, the event offered valuable opportunities for networking during shared meals and breaks, reinforcing the collaborative spirit of the consortium.

The meeting concluded with a retrospective session, outlining priorities for the upcoming months and confirming the consortium’s commitment to driving FROSTBIT forward.
