The FROSTBIT project kick-off meeting took place last November in the beautiful city of Bordeaux (France) to officially launch the project. This two-day meeting, organized by the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS), the project coordinator, included management and scientific discussions where the partners aligned on the project objectives and agreed on the next steps to follow for a successful collaboration and implementation of the project.

During the meeting, the consortium discussed the project’s goals, key milestones, and decided on the best strategy to effectively work together in the development of an innovative solid-state refrigeration technology. The lively discussion, including knowledge exchange between the partners, helped clarify the roadmap for the upcoming months, setting the stage for a strong partnership. Another highlight of the meeting were the networking sessions during coffee breaks, lunches, and dinners, that allowed partners to strengthen their collaboration.

FROSTBIT is a 4-year EU-funded project, with a consortium of 9 partners, including the CNRS, the University of Bordeaux, the University of Tours, the Polytechnic University of Barcelona, the University of Kent, the University of Lorraine, the University of Ljubljana and the company TotalEnergies.

Overall, this kickoff meeting was a key milestone in the project’s path to success. Keep tuned for more updates to come!
